“Our public education system is under attack. With budget cuts coming at the state and federal levels and the continued fight to privatize our public education system, my 30+ years of experience in Colorado schools will guide me in advocating for Colorado families.”

Policies for the People
With more budget cuts on the horizon, Lisa’s k-12 experience will guide us to ensure we are putting students first in all decisions.
Understanding how and why choices are being made is essential in advocacy. Lisa has been fighting for more transparency in Colorado’s education system her whole career.
We know test scores tell us more about a student’s socio-economic status then their understanding in content. Lisa will continue her fight to untie funding from test-scores and teacher evaluations.
As a former union member, ensuring our educators not only have fair pay, but access to the tools they need to be successful, and a safe working environment will always be part of Lisa’s advocacy.

Meet Lisa
I started my education career as a school psychologist working with children ages 3 to 21 and their families. I was an expert witness in the Lavato V Colorado case to testify on the inequities of education for our EL students; I worked with lawmakers to change the READ ACT so it better serves our students and educators, and I worked to pass amendments 23, 73, and 271 to help further funding for education in Colorado. I have been on the ground fighting for change my whole career.
